The power of the kingdom of the USA will be broken, i.e. plucked up after the soon coming World War III with Iran & Syria which including Iraq, is part of ancient biblical Persia. Alexander the Great of Greece was the first fulfillment of this ancient prophecy and the USA and the four beasts arising in (Daniel 7:3-8 is the end time fulfillment of it!!
Upon the death of Alexander the Great, his four generals carved up the Empire. Similarly, I believe that after the defeat of Persia, by the USA (Grecia or western King) the USA will go under martial law for many different reasons, and thusly no longer be the strongest nation in the world, and as the story of the Ram and He-Goat show, the final four kingdoms in the world will arise.

"And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth (Iran) shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches shall he stir up all against the realm of Grecia (the west). (Dan. 11:2) I don't think there is any doubt that President Mahoud Ahmadinejad is stirring all the Kings of Persia and the Middle East against the USA and its president.
"And a mighty king (US President) shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will." (Daniel 11:3) I also believe that our current president is ruling with great dominion and doing exactly what he wants. Our next president could however, be the one to fulfill this prophecy, regardless of who it is. Pres. Obama could get re-elected, and continue to fulfill this prophecy!
"And when he shall stand up, his kingdom (USA) shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others besides those." (Daniel 11:2, 3, 4)
"And I was considering, behold, a he goat ppt came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the he goat had a notable horn between his eyes (President of USA). (Daniel 8:5) Not touching the ground, in my opinion, means that the armed forces of the He-goat, came via ship and/or air, not by ground transportation, which is exactly how the American troops got into Iraq, which really is the beginning of this conflict, and as they do today as well.
And when war breaks out with Iran, which is exactly what President Mahoud Ahmadinejad wants in the first place, which is what he believes is what the 12th Imam wants him to do, so that the 12 Imam can appear and rule the world from Iran for Islam. Please see the video below!! Article here!!
"And I saw him come close to the ram (from Persia), and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: . . . . (Daniel 8:6) In my estimation the USA, specifically the President, will be extremely mad at the the ram with two horns (two kings) who are the leaders of Syria and Iran, both of which are currently in the news today (Oct.15,2011), and he destroys them (breaks the two horns).
"Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven." (Daniel 8:8) This means in my estimation, that after the defeat of Iran and Syria, in some manner I do not know, other than probably the declaring of Martial Law in the US, by the President, because of the internal turmoil, economic chaos, racial friction, border problems, etc. the US would then go under United Nations control, which is the fourth of the four communistic/socialistic kingdoms that will arise, as shown below of which the little horn will arise.
"And out of one of them (the dreadful and terrible beast that has ten horns/kings) (Daniel 7:7,8) came forth a little horn (the Antichrist), which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land (Israel)." (Daniel 8:9)
"And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and cast it down some of the host and of the stars to the ground." (Daniel 8:10)
"Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was taken away." (Daniel 8:11, 12) I believe this to mean the taking away the daily sacrifice of prayer at the Wailing (Western) Wall in Jerusalem, not the taking away of animal sacrifices in a rebuilt Jewish Temple/Solomon's Temple! "Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?" (Dan.8:13)
"And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days the shall the sanctuary be cleansed." (Dan.8:14"
Now, lets back up to the beginning of Daniel Chapter 8, to set the foundation that the Ram is Persia, or modern day Iran, which is part of Persia.
"In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar, a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first. And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; (Elam is Iran as the link to the left shows) I saw in a vision, and I was by the river Ulai. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last." (Daniel 8:1, 2, 3)
"And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come." (Jer.49:36)
"For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life; and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:" (Jer.49:37)
"And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the Lord." (Jer.49:38)
But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord." (Jeremiah 49:39)
